September 6 at New York Fashion Week saw a drove of lesser known designers have the opportunity to take the world's stage. While some displayed collections that blended into the crowd, some stood out with bold colours and statement silhouettes. That being said, Alexander Wang's ready-to-wear collection was the obvious and expected standout, but Christian Suriano was right on his coat tails. The two took the spotlight with their uniquely distinct lines, further proving themselves as fashion's young stars.

September 7 brought the likes of English designers Victoria Beckham and Zoe Jordan, whose distinctly London collections did not disappoint. DKNY brought a burst of colour and unusually voluminous shapes, but the new twist succeeded, bringing one of my favourite collections of the day. Sunday brought less shows than the other days, and, for the most part, they were relatively lacklustre. Versus Versace brought luxe glam, Edun brought calf hair spots and grunge silhouettes, but almost everyone else brought predictability.
