New York Fashion Week officially began today (September 4), but some shows began early, with both showcases and runways on September 2nd and 3rd.
Big winners from these two shows included the Frida Kahlo inspired collection from M Missoni and Whit's colourful collection, who displayed the most originality and edge combined with ready-to-wear elements and silhouettes.
The biggest shock? Although I did enjoy some looks from ZAC Zac Posen, I expected more from the hugely popular designer. Hopefully his original namesake collection brings more to the runway. Derek Lam's collection, though detail-oriented and structured, felt predictable and lacklustre.
Below is a gallery of my favourite looks from September 2 and 3.
